About

Big Brothers Big Sisters, founded in 1904, is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States. Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided quality mentoring services since 1963, when an increasing need for mentors in the Worcester area led to the establishment of a local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, which serves over 40 cities and towns in Central Massachusetts and Metrowest. Ben Ticho was appointed Executive Director of the agency in 1978 and remains in this position today.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has a mission “to enhance the quality of life of children at-risk, and their families, by matching these children in professionally supported mentoring relationships with responsible and caring volunteers.”
