Little Sister Receives KELLY award

The KELLY scholarship is made possible by the Liberty Mutual Foundation and is the namesake of  Liberty Mutual Chairman, President and CEO Ted Kelly and his wife Debbie.  It was created by Mass Mentoring Partnership last year to honor Ted, a past board chair of MMP.  The following is an e-mail that was sent to notify the agency that a Little Sister named Kimberli was selected as a 2009 recipient of the KELLY award.

On behalf of Mass Mentoring and Ted and Debbie Kelly, it is my pleasure to announce that Kimberli has been chosen as the 2009 recipient of the KELLY Award.  Congratulations to you and Kimberli on this award! We hope that this one-time, $5,000 educational award will help her pursue her college education.

Kimberli was selected from 42 applicants ranging in age from eleven to twenty from mentoring programs all over the state.  As your application demonstrates, she has truly overcome and persevered through adversity to accomplish her goals.  We are so pleased to be able to honor Kimberli and recognize your extraordinary mentoring relationship, which is an outstanding example of the power that mentoring can have to change lives.
