Former Patriot Wide Receiver
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest is thrilled to announce the participation of Troy Brown, former Patriots Wide Receiver, as Honorary Chair of the fourth annual A Taste of Something BIG event on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at The International in Bolton.
Troy Brown, born July 2, 1971 in Barnwell, SC, spent 15 years as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. Drafted out of Marshall University in 1993, Brown became a full-time starter in 2000.
Brown played his entire career as a Patriot, earning three Super Bowl Rings with the team (2002, 2004 and 2005). He retired in 2008 as the franchise leader in career receptions with 557, including 58 catches in 20 playoff games.
Since retirement, Troy Brown has been very active in the community supporting various charities which focus primarily on children such as the YMCA, Inner City Scholarship Fund, Peer Health Exchange, Boston Center for Youth & Family and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
He is pleased to be able to support Big Brothers Big Sisters through his participation in A Taste of Something BIG.
