Red Sox Mentoring Night

On May 20, Mass Mentoring sponsored the annual “Mentoring Night at Fenway” to raise awareness for youth mentoring agencies and to give some of our Littles the chance to watch Jon Lester pitch a complete game!
These two matches, (left: Robert Hurley and George, right: Jody Mancini and Devon) joined mentors and mentees from all over Massachusetts to represent Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MA/Metrowest at Mentoring Night at Fenway. These matches are both from our site-based program with BOSE  and Maynard Boys & Girls Club.

“A Taste of Something BIG” a Great Success!

Saying Farewell for the Summer

With summer just around the corner, BBBS Staff have had their hands full making the most of these last weeks before graduation!

Bill and David from 86 Winter
Each site had a different celebration of the year.  Many schools hosted pizza parties, TJX held an ice cream social for their matches, and BBBS coordi
nated field days for all the WPI and Holy Cross matches to attend.

Holy Cross posted a photo slideshow from their Field Day and many end-of-year photos have been posted on the BBBSCM Facebook page.

Rodman Ride for Kids, Sept 25, 2010

Save the Date for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ biggest fundraiser, the Rodman Ride for Kids on Saturday, September 25, 2010.rodman09_3

Last year,we exceeded our challenging goal of $80,000.  Because we made goal, the Ride Foundation added an extra incentive so our check came to a total of $89,415.80!

There are many ways to get involved in the Rodman Ride:
Register to ride your bike with our BBBS of Central Mass/Metrowest team
– Create or join a team to ride for BBBSCM (last year this was done by Unum, John’s Brothers Holy Cross Lacrosse Team, WPI Basketball, Genzyme, The TJX Companies)
– Ask your company to sponsor BBBSCM (sponsorship levels start at $2000)
– Volunteer at the Ride Headquarters or BBBS Waterstop
Make a donation to a rider or team
– If you can’t make it on Sept 25, be a virtual rider and help raise funds for BBBSCM.

If you’d like to volunteer or get more information about the ride, contact Meg Nupp with any questions.
