Matches at the Monster Mash

Dear Robert,

I can’t thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Your donation of Monster Seats and the other wonderful perks that went along with them to Big Brothers Big Sisters was simply unbelievable and absolutely made my little brother Nino’s day.  No, actually, I think you made his year!!!

I’ll be honest, I was just as excited to be in those seats. The Red Sox staff was great, the weather was about as good as it could be…and the game!!!   Papelbon in the top of the 9th and then a bottom of the 9th walk off winning hit by Pedroia made it complete!  We even caught two home run balls (almost a third) during the Dodgers batting practice and one of them was off the bat of former Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez.

Nino had only been one Red Sox game in the past when we sat mid way up to the giant Ford sign in the right center bleachers. I had told Nino on Thursday that I had special plans for us on Saturday and that if he had plans he needed to cancel them.  I was hoping to make it a surprise.  But Nino was relentless in his pursuit of the surprise, texting and calling me Friday to find out what I had in store.  Finally, Friday night I caved and told him all the details and he was ecstatic! Nino had an ear to ear grin on his face just about the entire day, similar to the one in the first picture that is attached.

I understand that you may have seen a couple of the pictures we took on Saturday. I’m attaching three more pictures that you might enjoy.  Can you tell which is my favorite?

Again, thank you for your support and as a Board Member for three years and a Big Brother for 7 years, I can honestly tell you that people like you make the difference in these kids lives because without your support, people like me would have less opportunities to enlighten these kids lives. Thank you Robert!!!

Byron
