Big Sister Kathy M. and Little Sister Jennifer P. have just begun the Big Brothers Big Sisters journey. Jennifer, 10, is a member of the Marlborough Boys & Girls Club and her new Big Sister, Kathy, is a mechanical engineer at Raytheon. The two have only met three times, but they have already created something special.
“So far I am very happy with my decision to be a Big Sister. I hope we continue to learn things from each other and have fun together. I’m anticipating a good relationship that will benefit both of us,” says Kathy.
So far, they have already bonded by playing Jennifer’s favorite board game, Jenga, talking about each other’s families, and their favorite things to do. Kathy is teaching Jennifer how to knit. They are working on making a scarf, Jennifer’s favorite color of course; purple. They even worked together to learn how to play the new Sorry Sliders game.
As a site-based match, Kathy and Jennifer will meet every Thursday for an hour for the remainder of the school year.
